Disciplinary Panels

All professional bodies are obliged to regulate the conduct of their members in order to protect the public and uphold the standards of the relevant profession.

Where a member is the subject of a complaint, the professional body will have procedures in place to gather evidence, investigate the complaint and render decisions relating to compliance with its professional code of conduct, including deciding if any sanctions are to be applied.

Murray Armes is appointed to the disciplinary panel of the RIBA and is also a chair of the disciplinary panel for the ISE.  For the RIBA he has carried out investigations and given recommendations as to whether a complaint should be heard by the Professional Conduct Committee.  For the ISE he has chaired disciplinary panels and overseen the publication of decisions, including sanctions.
